Street Outlaw “Big Daddy” Rumbles at the Ridge! Girls Gone Racing Makes a Come Back!
Drivers, crew and spectators stayed bundled up for a chilly day of racing at the Ridge on Saturday June 14, 2014. But that didn’t stop the smoke from rolling, win lights from coming on and the victor’s from going to Victory Lane in Skyview Drags 660 ET Racing Series.
Skyview Drags proudly hosted the 632 cubic inch big block Chevy powered GMC Sonoma of Street Outlaw driver David “Big Daddy” Comstock. Cameras were flashing and videos rolled as Big Daddy made 2 shake down passes at the Ridge.
Precision Crankworks of Kirkwood NY added some fun to the days racing schedule by presenting a little Girls Gone Racing. The race was held in loving memory of Theresa Kawryga who passed away in February. The Victory went to Sandy Hacker of Bainbridge NY in her Ford powered Rollin' Thunder Mustang. Hacker presented the trophy to Theresa's son in her honor. Haley Teed of Friendsville Pa was the Girls Gone Racing runner-up. Hacker dialed 6.63 went .593 on the tree running a 6.660 ET. Teed went 9.912 ET on her 9.88 dial, .611 reaction time. Joann Lamoree was the Girls Gone Racing Semi Finalists.

We are also running a complete Bracket Racing program and our Girls Gone Racing special event.
Junior Dragsters: Gates open at 8:30 AM with Time Trials beginning at 10 AM.
All other classes: Gates open at 10:30 AM with Time Trials beginning at 1 PM.
Gate fee for this special event is just $15 for adults and $5 for children 15 and under.

Week 3 of Skyview Drags 660 ET Racing Series is in the books after a successful day at the ridge on Saturday June 7, 2014. Added to the days schedule and new this year was a Gambler's Choice Race open to all 3rd round class losers. Boyd McGarry of Horseheads NY took home the gambler's pot over Russ Story.The Junior Dragster final round brought tough competitor's Morgan Burgess of Canton Pa and Hunter Denmark of Ovid NY against each other for the second week in a row. Burgess went on to Victory Lane after a break-out by Denmark. Burgess dialed 7.92, had the better .577 reaction time running a 7.947 ET. Denmark dialed 8.50, went .595 on the tree, running a too quick 8.470 ET. Semi Finals went to the “In The Hunt” junior dragster driven by Lewis Ink of Barton NY.
2-Day Race at the Ridge: Back to Back Wins Go to Talmadge & Wright
In a two day race held at Skyview Drags over the weekend, Don Kiekel, Mark Talmadge and Lynn Major posted Saturday May 31, 2014 wins in the 660 ET Racing Series in Super Pro, Pro and Bike/Sled. Joining them in the 660 ET Racing Series Victory Lane were Tim Wright (Street Money) Mike Ryck (Street Trophy) and Dawn Garinger (Modified Trophy).
With over 30 Super Pro entries, Kiekel of Binghamton NY, powered his Big Block Chevy Racecraft rear engine dragster to Victory Lane over opponent CJ Drake of Binghamton NY. Kiekel, dialed 4.88 went .517 on the tree, running dead on with a 4.883 ET. Drake in his pro charged American rear engine dragster, ran a 4.487 ET on his 4.47 dial, .508 reaction time. Carl Drake Sr of Binghamton NY, took home the sole Semi Final spot after being defeated by Kiekel.
