Jet Jam rumbles the Ridge with Bob Motz and The Star Boyz Stunt Fest!
Skyview Drags presented an action packed day of racing with the Jet Jam at the Ridge Saturday night featuring side by side heads up competition by Pro Mods, the KC Jones Cannonball Express and the Chattanooga Choo-Choo jet-powered trains and the jet powered semi truck of Bob Motz. The Starboyz Stunt Fest made their way back to the track Saturday night and put on an exciting wheel standing, burnout fest for the crowd!
17 competitors entered the Junior Dragster class sponsored by Precision Crankworks of Kirwood NY in the Saturday August 18, 2012 points race. Ava Lawler took home the trophy against regular points competitor Haley Teed of Friendsville PA. Teed had the advantage at the line with a .521 reaction time to Lawler’s .547. Lawler took the stripe running a 7.936 ET on a 7.90 dial to Teed’s 8.006 ET on a 7.93 dial. In the Semi Finals, Lawler defeated last week’s runner-up Hunter Denmark of Ovid NY. Denmark dialed 9.14 went red on the tree running a 9.521 ET. Lawler went .563 on the tree running a 7.854 ET on a 7.90 dial. Teed defeated Paige Montgomery of Alden NY. Teed dialed 7.94 went .556 on the tree running right on her dial with a 7.944 ET. Montgomery broke out running 8.088 ET on a 8.09 dial, .598 reaction time.
Kris Larsen of Blodgett Mills NY brought home his first Super Pro win of the 2012 season against Brad Perkins of Leicester NY. Larsen dialed 5.59 had the better reaction time with a .522, running a 5.609 ET. Perkins with a .552 reaction time, broke out running a 6.982 ET on a 6.99 dial. In the Semi Finals Perkins defeated Kathy Kiekel of Binghamton NY. Perkins dialed 6.99 had the advantage at the line with a .525 reaction time, running a 7.016 ET. Kiekel dialed 6.04, went .539 on the tree, running a 6.148 ET. Larsen had the bye run into the final after defeating Bob Hacker of Bainbridge NY in the Quarter Finals.
Super Pro runner-up Brad Perkins took home the win in the Pro Class against Tim Zyla of Sayre PA. Both Perkins and Zyla broke out in the final round, but Perkins dialed 7.00 ran closer to his number with a 6.975 ET, .548 reaction time. Zyla dialed 6.26 went .573 on the tree, running a 6.211 ET. In the Semi Finals, Perks defeated Mike Scribani of Delhi NY. Scribani dialed 6.47 went .487 red, running a 6.461 ET. Perkins dialed 6.99 went .555, 7.523 ET. Zyla had the bye run in to the final round.
In Bike/Sled, Lynn Major of Tioga Center NY took home his 3rd consecutive win on Saturday against Randy Teed of Friendsville PA. In the Semi Final round, Major defeated Ken Dolatowski of Camillus NY. Major dialed 5.35 went 5.38 on the tree running a 5.418 ET. Dolatowski went .492 red running a 6.349 ET on a 6.31 dial. Teed defeated Super Pro racer, Franc Francis of Seneca Falls NY, who hung up his fire suit for the weekend for a leather jacket. Teed dialed 5.99 went .581 on the tree running a 6.049 ET. Francis had the better reaction time with a .524, but was unable to run the number going a 7.319 ET on a 7.01 dial.
In TCR, Matt Dunkle of Millerton PA defeated Teresa Kurtz of Newark Valley NY. Dunkle dialed 11.26 had the advantage at the line with a .587 reaction, running a 11.362 ET. Kurtz dialed 10.65 went .995 on the tree running a 10.719 ET.
Gary French of Seneca Falls NY brought home his second win of the 2012 season in Street Money against Joe Patelunas of Elmira NY. French dialed 8.40 went .606 on the tree running a 8.432 ET. Patelunas broke out running a 9.287 ET on a 9.43 dial, .622 reaction time. In the Semi Finals, French defeated Howie Conklin of Grahamsville NY. Patelunas had the bye run into the final round.
Ken Bacon of Elmira NY took home another Street Trophy win this weekend against Howie Conklin of Grahamsville NY. Bacon dialed 8.31 had the advantage with a .567 light, running a 8.365 ET on his dial. Conklin dialed 8.60, went .603 on the tree running a 8.615 ET. In the Semi Finals, Bacon defeated Chris Hacker. Conklin had the bye run into the final.
