Dream Season Continues For Jr. Racer Randi Teed
During Saturday September 29's Junior Dragster competition, sponsored by Precision Crankworks, the winning streak continued for points leader Randi Teed of Friendsville PA, who took home the win against Hannah Garinger of New Albany PA. Garinger, in her first career final, dialed her car in at a 12.46, left the line with a .605 reaction time, but broke out running a 12.310 ET on her dial. Teed dialed 7.98 gave chase, going .609 on the tree, ran right on her dial with a 7.980 ET. In the Semi Final round, Garinger advanced to the final against Haley Teed of Friendsville PA. Garinger dialed 12.46 went .561 on the tree running a 12.483 ET. Teed broke out running 7.913 ET on her 7.94 dial, going .566 on the tree. Randi Teed had the bye run into the final after defeating Abby Hacker of Bainbridge NY in the Quarter Finals.
CJ Drake of Binghamton, NY took his Best Engineered Dragster to the winner’s circle in Super Pro against Jack Reome of Blodgett Mills, NY. In a close final round, Reome dialed 4.78 went .518 on the tree running dead on with a 4.780 ET. Drake gave chase dialed in at a quick 4.44, had the better tree with a .507 reaction, and turned on the win light going a 4.442 ET on his dial. In the Semi Final round, Drake moved onto the final round against Chuck Fish of Ithaca, NY. Fish dialed 4.90 went .497 red turning the win light on for Drake who went .528 on tree and running a 4.648 ET on a 4.45 dial. Reome earned the bye run to the final after defeating Carl Drake Sr. of Binghamton, NY.
In the Pro class Matt Himes of Ontario, NY was the class winner over Lee Mills of Newark Valley, NY. Mills dialed 7.58 went .744 on the tree running a 7.665 ET. Himes had the advantage at the line with a .521 reaction time and ran a 6.917 ET on a 6.77 dial. In a heads up match in the Semi Final, Larry Ward of Trumansburg, NY lined up against Himes, both dialed 6.77. Himes left the line first with a .529 reaction to Ward’s .531, ultimately turning the win light by running closer to the dial with a 6.807 ET to Wards 6.846 ET. Mills moved onto the final round against Manley Houghtalen of Sayre, PA. Houghtalen dialed a 8.16, left before the third amber, automatically turning the win light on for Mills.
Lynn Major of Tioga Center, NY took home another Bike/Sled win this Saturday over Brent Garcia of Cincinnatus, NY. Major dialed 5.45, went .583 on the tree running the dial with a 5.457 ET. Garcia dialed 6.85, had the advantage at the line with a .546 reaction time, but ran off the dial with a 6.904 ET. Semi Final round lined Matt Luke of Cicero, NY against Major. Luke dialed 6.60 went .626 on the tree running a 6.659 ET. Major dialed 5.45 went .559 on the tree running a 5.49 ET. Garcia moved into the final against Boyd McGarry of Horseheads, NY. Garcia dialed 6.84 left the line first with a .622 reaction time, running a 6.878 ET. McGarry dialed 6.29 went .474 on the tree, turning the win light on for Garcia.
In Street Money, Gary French of Seneca Falls, NY took home his 3rd win of the season. Ken Bacon of Elmira, NY was this week’s runner-up. French dialed 8.47 went .545 on the tree running a 8.517 ET. Bacon dialed 8.56 went .599 on the tree running a 8.653 ET. Saturday’s Street Money Semi Finalists were Kenneth Roberts of Ulster, PA and Mike Dunkle of Millerton, PA.
Howie Conklin of Grahamsville, NY took home the win in Street Trophy over Tim Wright of Apalachin, NY. Conklin dialed 8.17, had a .660 reaction time running the dial with a 8.176 ET. Wright left the line first dialed 8.03, had the better reaction time with a .583, but broke out running a 8.028 ET. Street Money runner-up Ken Bacon of Elmira, NY was the Street Trophy Semi Finalist.
TCR class win went to Eve Arnold who defeated Teresa Kurtz of Newark Valley NY in the final round. Arnold dialed 12.40 went .619 on the tree running a 12.509 ET. Kurtz left the line with a .606 reaction time, but broke out running a 10.537 ET on a 10.55 dial.
