Northern Summer Nationals Turns Into 1 day Race Due to Friday Rain Out!

 

forbesMaking his way up the ranks from the Junior Dragster class to Super Pro is Matt Forbes of Esperance NY, scoring his first career Super Pro win on Saturday June 29, 2013.  A proud day for the Forbes family as the rookie took down veteran racer, Chuck Fish of Ithaca NY in the final round.  Forbes dialed 5.26, went .512 on the tree running a 5.295 ET.  Fish gave chase dialed 4.93, .536 reaction time, running 4.950 ET on his dial.

In TCR, Matt Dunkle of Millerton Pa was the sol competitor and winner in his Ford powered Lincoln.  Dunkle dialed 11.31 went .644 on the tree running 11.302 on his dial.

In a double red light final round, Ray Thurston III of Tonawanda NY cinched the win in the Pro Class over George Coleman of Barton NY.  Coleman dialed 6.88 was the first to leave the line, going .476 red on the tree running 6.880 ET.  Thurston dialed 2 hundredths quicker than Coleman at 6.86, went .474 on the tree running 6.848 ET on his dial.  Because Coleman left the line first, the win went to Thurston III in a double red light race.

Last week’s Pro winner Jeff Gallick of Athens Pa went to the winner’s circle once again, this time in the NETO Open Comp class.  Gallick defeated regular NETO and Pro Class competitor Aaron Brown of Odessa NY.  Gallick dialed 6.36 went .570 on tree 6.409 ET.  Brown dialed 8.10 went .468 red on the tree running 8.223 ET, automatically turning the win light on for Gallick.
