Independence Day celebrated with Jet Cars & Monster Trucks at The Ridge!

monster trucksRacers and fans gathered together to celebrate Independence Day on the Fourth of July at Skyview Drags with a spectacular showing by the regular 660 Point’s Competitors and an exhibition Jet Jam and Monster Truck Show.  An amazing display of fireworks in celebration of this great country was put on by Skyview Drags.  Team Steam, owned by KC & Linda Jones  presented the World’s Wildest Locomotives the Chattanooga Choo-Choo, the Cannonball Express and new to Skyview Drags, the Crazy Train Wheelstander.  Vater Monster Motorsports was on site with the teams Ford powered monster trucks; Black Stallion, Iron Warrior and the ultra cool bus, Higher Education.

Eliminations got under way that morning with the Junior Dragster Class taking their cars to the staging lanes.  3rd place points holder, Randi Teed of Friendsville Pa went to the winner’s circle after defeating Paige Montgomery of Alden NY who is currently 11th points.  In a heads up final, both girls were dialed 7.97.  A .496 red light start for Montgomery automatically turned the win light on for Teed.  Montgomery ran a 7.999 ET on her dial, while Teed ran a 8.011 ET.

TCR points leader Matt Dunkle of Millerton Pa brought home the win for the second week in a row.  Dunkle dialed 11.50 went .662 on the tree running 11.226 ET.

In a Chevy versus Mopar Pro final, Anthony Zancari of Clay NY scored the win in his Chevy powered Camaro after taking down the Mopar powered GTX driven by Mike LaRose of Monroe NY.  Zancari dialed 6.48 went .550 on the tree, running on his dial with a 6.489 ET.  LaRose broke out running 6.658 ET on a 6.67 dial, .578 reaction time
