That unmistakable flamed rail, and is the coined namesake of Jim "Mr. Perfect" Cirigliano, who hails from Greene, New York. A fabrication manager at America's #1 Reach Truck manufacturing plant in Greene, New York, Jim has been racing on and off for about 20 years, but pretty steady of the last 12 years! The flamed rail was the #1 ride of friend, Carl Drake Sr., and Carl's Nova was Jim's pride, but the guys decided to do the switch and the rest is history. The car, a 1999 Cressman, powered by a 434 CI S/B Chevy running fuel injected alcohol, with motor by John Poel and his other sponsors as Rogers Industrial, Doug's SpeedShop and Heads By Doc.
During our conversation in his air-conditioned motorhome during that hot, humid Saturday, Jim spoke fondly of Dave Watkins Sr., who helped him out a great deal in the past and wanted to take this time to acknowledge his gratitude!
A winner at ESTA and Skyview, Jim has also been runner-up at Lebanon Valley and 4 years ago traveled to Memphis, TN to the National Event and finished as a semifinalist!
Jim acknowledges that he could not get everything done and done right without the help of his friends, Carl Drake and family.
"Skyview is a real nice facility", whispers Jim,"but it has to be the successful and the nicest place around." "I always try to do my best!", smiled Jim as I asked him about being labeled last season as "Mr. Perfect!" "It was a nice touch, I enjoyed that!," laughs Jim as we relaxed between rounds at a jam packed day at Skyview Drags.
