How many miles do you think you've driven after being in the sport of drag racing? Ask Pete Thornton, and he'll laugh and probably tell you exactly.

Spending time working at Paxar in Sayre, PA, or holding down the fort in Spencer, NY, or coming up to Skyview to hang out with friends, make new ones, do some bench racing, or hammer the '77 Malibu 454 BBC down the 1/8 mile are just some of the things that occupy his timetable.

With a best E.T. of 7.95 and a best speed of 86.0 mph, Pete can chalk up his racing by telling me he could not get it done without the help of his crew, Pat, wife Sue, Sean and Ashley.

Though without sponsors at the time, Pete stops to reflect on the moment in time, as the roar of the engines and smell of rubber lingers in the air and smiles, "We are just glad George has done this so close to home!"
